What is the Azerbaijan eVisa?
The Azerbaijan eVisa (ASAN Visa) is an electronic travel authorization that allows foreign nationals to enter Azerbaijan for tourism, business, or transit. It is applied for entirely online through evisa.gov.az.
Who needs an eVisa for Azerbaijan?
Citizens of over 90 countries need a visa to enter Azerbaijan. If your country is on the eligible list, you can apply for the eVisa online. Citizens of visa-free countries (Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, etc.) do not need an eVisa.
How much does the Azerbaijan eVisa cost?

How long is the eVisa valid?

Can I use a photo instead of a passport scan?
Yes, a clear smartphone photo of your passport bio page is acceptable. Ensure all text is readable, the image is well-lit, and the entire page is visible.
Do children need separate eVisas?
Yes. Every traveler, including infants and children, needs a separate eVisa. Each child must have their own passport.
Payment and Fees
What payment methods are accepted?
Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit/debit cards are accepted. Payment is processed in USD. Your bank may charge a foreign transaction fee.
Is the fee refundable if my application is rejected?
No. The eVisa fee is non-refundable regardless of the application outcome.
Why was my payment declined?
Common reasons include insufficient funds, international transactions blocked by your bank, or incorrect card details. Contact your bank to authorize the payment or try a different card.
Travel and Entry
Do I need to print my eVisa?
While digital copies are accepted, carrying a printed copy is recommended. Border officers may request a physical copy, and having a backup is useful if your phone battery dies.
Can I enter Azerbaijan by land with an eVisa?
Yes. The eVisa is valid for entry at all official border crossings, including airports, land borders, and seaports.
What happens if I overstay my eVisa?
Overstaying can result in fines, detention, deportation, and a ban on future entry. Always depart before your visa expires. If you need to extend your stay, contact the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan.
Can I work in Azerbaijan with an eVisa?
No. The eVisa is for tourism, business meetings, and transit only. Working in Azerbaijan requires a work permit and employment visa.
